Highly recommend. I have an older, low mileage Mercedes that is in very good condition, but developed an electrical problem that my regular mechanic could not resolve. The issue was significant - I could not safely use or sell the car; without resolution I would have to send it to the junk yard. I took the car to the local Mercedes dealer and they also could not fix the problem. Then I took it to Bennett Automotive and they attempted to resolve the problem. They believed they fixed the issue and I took the car home, but it turned out shortly thereafter that the problem was not resolved. It was a discouraging situation. Now the exceptional thing about Bennett automotive is that without my calling them, Matt, the owner of Bennett contacted me to check and see if the car was running fine. I told them the problem was not resolved, so he asked me to bring the car back for further evaluation. I took the car back to Bennett and they were finally able to diagnose and resolve the problem. It was expensive but it was much better than disposing of the car. Point being, Bennett's took the step to demonstrate they care about their customers. The regular mechanic that had been servicing the car for over fifteen years and the Mercedes dealer made no effort for follow up, but Bennett Automotive did so. And that makes all the difference to me. I will now be taking my vehicles to Bennett and highly recommend the same to others in need of automotive service. Thanks, Matt!

I was having some issues with my truck. The check engine light was on for nearly a year showing multiple codes. I took it to three different shops, including Ford and they were all stumped by the various codes. I had one mechanic who, I've used for years, work on it multiple times and not be able to fix the issues I was having. Matt and his crew at Bennett Auto dove into it, diagnosed some problems, started fixing one thing then the next until they got to the major issue (bad fuel injectors). They were able to get my truck to stop making the awful pinging noise it had been making for several months and get it back to me in 3 days. As a General Contractor who requires my truck and tools in my truck for work the timeliness was extremely appreciated. I will continue to use Bennett Automotive moving forward and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good Mechanic. Thanks Matt and team.

I would highly recommend Bennett Automotive to anybody I know, either for regular service, or any bigger jobs they may have. My family has been coming to this shop for 25+ years, and management under Joe and Matt over the last few years has not only maintained the same high level of service, quality of work, and straightforwardness, but has also added some nice modern convenience features like text/phone notifications, and a secured lockbox for after-hours pickups. Bennett Automotive did an outstanding job diagnosing and fixing an engine performance issue I was experiencing. My truck was rough idling, and had very low power when accelerating. I took it to two different shops, and they both were unable to fix the problem. I was getting frustrated after paying two diagnostic fees with no improvement. I decided to try one more time, and made an appointment at Bennett. They have a very reasonable diagnostic fee, and they were able to find the problem and fix it in just a few days. They were also very nice, and kept me advised of their progress. The overall experience was great, and I will be taking my families vehicles to them in the future for sure. Greetings, I took my 2001 F250 V10 in for some AC work after it began to stop blowing cold and making a horrendous noise during a long road trip home from Arizona. Not good. Took the truck into Bennett and met with Joe who was quick to get me a preliminary diagnosis and an estimate. It was explained to me that until they get into the job, that they wouldn't know if I had done more damage to the AC system which would greatly increase the estimate. After leaving them the truck I received an update a few hours later with good news that the AC system was not damaged and only the compressor and a few other parts needed replacement. I felt this was honest work and these people are trustworthy in my opinion. I also met with Matt who was equally professional and genuine. The work was finished the next day and my AC blows quiet and freezing cold, like it did when it was new. I highly recommend giving them a chance.

I had driven to Thousand Oaks for work (140 miles from home) and unfortunately my vehicle broke down on me. Fortunately it was right next to Bennett Automotive. I had my 10 year old son with me and was honestly not very hopeful when I walked in about the possibility of it being fixed that same day. Used this company in past under different ownership and was very happy. I came back not knowing there was a new owner and team. Have to say I'm not the easiest customer because my expectations are high and I'm the type to ask a lot of questions (mostly from a point of having some hands on knowledge about auto repairs and things I've learned doing my homework -Google searches etc). These guys are totally busy with lots of things going on due to string customer demand but despite all of that they followed through on everything I asked, gave me answers to questions etc. I can say from experience in having them work on our Toyota Prius's brake system that they know what they are doing and they did it right the first time despite everything else they were dealing with. Great follow up to make sure the car was working ok not once but twice! Owner Matt was friendly and accessible. Anyone on his team seemed on the ball. Obviously there's always the chance something gets missed as we're all human but my takeaway is that these folks are experienced professionals and the business is highly organized and run well. I've been coming to this shop for years just for stuff i dont feel like doing on my own. Matt will periodically reach out to check in, see how things are running. Matt reached out a few days ago and i actually did need a new alternator belt put on my 2010 toyota yaris, i told him money was tight and i didnt want to diagnose anything else (i know theres other things that need repairs) but Matt was very respectful and only quoted and charged me for rhe part i needed and labor. A lot of mechanics can be pushy with the repairing everything all at once and then you're out $2k. I appreciated the understanding and speedy service. 2 days later and my cars running great with the new alternator :) 10/10

I was up from San Diego visiting my sister and my LR4 broke down just before heading back south. They were booked up but they had me bring my car in anyway to see what they could do to help me out. It ended up being a larger issue, so it took a few days to fix, but they completed the job sooner than they expected and made sure there were no other issues. Bennett's automotive shop was recommended to me by a coworker and I haven't looked for another since. I brought my used 2007 Saturn for a routine oil change and since I had bought it off the street, I also asked them to do an inspection of the car. Matt was honest and very helpful, he let me know the car was in good condition and that the brakes and tires were new (I had just replaced them). This was in 2019 when I was only 19 years old and had terrible experiences with other companies and overall in the car world. After my Saturn was totaled I bought a new Toyota hatch that had 2 years of free maintenance at the dealership but once those 2 years were up I brought my car back to Matt at Bennett's. He remembered me and happily serviced my Toyota, he did me the favor of changing my tires even though they themselves don't do it. Reagan is also another person I've had the pleasure of meeting, she's made it a breeze to set appointments and is very helpful with the payments and pointing me in the right direction if they can't do something for me. I truly vouch for them and I've recommended them to friends and family, you won't be disappointed to bring your car here, whether it's a beater or a brand new car!

Brought my '99 Jeep Wrangler into Bennett Automotive to have the rear main seal repaired and couldn't be happier with the the owner, employees, customer service, and repairs. Very clean, reputable, and honest business. If you're familiar with the Wrangler TJ platform('97-'06), the rear mains are notorious for leaking and some repair facilities won't even look at them. Matt, the owner, hesitated for a second, but only after I shared that I had tried to repair it myself, but failed. I'm not shy to wrench, but the failed attempt and the history of the issue put me at Matt's doorstep. So glad we crossed paths. Repairs to the rear main were done in a neat and timely manner. But, unfortunately for me, that was not the end of my service issues. While the Jeep was getting finished up with the rear main seal repair, Matt and Steven, the mechanic, noticed coolant on the inside passenger floor board. Being a long time owner of (3) Wrangler TJs, it didn't take much thought to self-diagnose as a heater core leak. I've watched videos on replacing the heater core on a TJ and it was not even close to something I was comfortable on tackling. Matt confirmed my thoughts and quoted accordingly. But this is where complete honesty comes in. If I'm not mistaken, I believe it was Steven's idea to try to change just the heater hoses and see what the results would be. 99 times out of 100, it would be the heater core, especially with coolant inside on the passenger floorboard, but low and behold, after the hoses were changed and the Jeep was run for a period, no leak. This saved me hundreds of dollars. Obviously, he saw something that made it worth trying and I was the beneficiary of that. Many other shops probably wouldn't even have hesitated tearing it down and I don't necessarily blame them. Again, it's almost a given that it would have been the heater core. And another shout out to Steven. When I dropped off the Jeep, Matt said it would take, abnormally, a few days to take a look and verify what we pretty much knew was a rear main. I learned later, this ended up being because he wanted Steven to do the diagnosis and Steven was finishing up a motor swap. So, after a few days I went to check on the status. Matt was not around, but Steven was quick to drop what he was doing and ask what I needed. I explained that I was waiting to confirm the source of the oil leak on the Jeep. This is where I found out Steven would be working on the Jeep. He explained he was just finishing up the motor swap that day and would be looking at the Jeep after completing. We had about a 10-15 minute conversation before Matt returned, but it only took a couple minutes to feel extremely confident with Steven and his knowledge. On a personal note, I'm very hesitant to leave my vehicles anywhere I can't keep an eye of them, so it gives me major anxiety to drop them off and leave for multiple days. With that said, they took extremely good care of my rig and even kept it inside when they could. Matt explained, under normal circumstances, the Jeep would have been diagnosed and repaired in a few days, but because Steven was in the middle of the engine swap, and actually had another swap in the wings after the Jeep, it was a rare time and repairs would take a bit more to diagnose and repair than normal turn-around times. Everything was done when approximated, if not sooner. And communication was absolutely great. I can't say enough about that. I'm a glazing contractor and I know what it takes to appease your clients. Communication is high on the list, if not number one. Bottom line, in my humblest opinion, Bennett Automotive is a superior automotive repair shop and I would highly recommend them for any auto repairs. Matt has got to be one of the best in the auto repair business. To run a successful business, it takes knowledge and commitment of your trade as well as people skills. Matt and the employees of Bennett Automotive have it all. Couldn't be happier.

I own a 1992 f250 4x4 which was used as a farm vehicle for 15 years and was just neglected over time. A lot of things did not work when I got the truck and overtime I managed to fix a few things myself but the bigger stuff required professional attention. One thing that the truck came with was cruise control which I had no clue on how to fix. But Bennett automotive was understanding and took me in the very next day as where other shops were weeks out. The work was done quickly and professionally and very much to my satisfaction. In the middle of a heatwave the last thing you need is your AC to be on the fritz. I was trying to be cheap and tried diy and soon realized this needs to be left to the pros. He's very professional and doesn't sugarcoat things. He's up front and to the point when it comes to prices. Unlike most mechanics these days that throw surprise costs at you at the time of checkout. It is hard to find a trustworthy mechanic in Thousand Oaks. When we came across Bennett several years ago, we went to Brent for a second opinion; the first auto shop took a look under the hood and said it would be about $1200 to fix the issue. Not feeling comfortable with the big $$, we happened across Brent at Bennett Automotive and asked him to look at the issue. A few hundred dollars later (a part we were told was bad turned out not to be), we left totally satisfied with his service. Since then, we have found him to always provide honest assessments of the repairs that need to be done and he always stands behind his work. With my sons driving now, we are a 5 car family and I will only trust our cars to Brent! Highly recommend!!
